Specimen Bags

The right choice to transport biological substances and medical specimen

KENROO

About our specimen bags

Specimens of all kinds are at the foundation of scientific research, criminal investigations, the medical industry, and much more. No matter the specificities of the contents inside, specimen bags must be able to effectively remove the specimen from the source and place it in a safe environment for transportation. This is done not only to preserve the contents of the bag and prevent it from external contamination, but also to prevent its handlers from accidental exposure to what may be a hazardous substance inside.

RLK Group offers specimen transport bags easily customised to a range of specifications.

There is no single specimen bag perfectly suited for all purposes. Depending on what you or your brand needs specimen bags for, you may be interested in UN3373 or 95kpa variants. More details about our more basic specimen transport bags are as follows:

Material

In order to ensure that the hazardous substances are secure inside, we make our bags out of a range of plastics, including:

RLK Group has a commitment to the environment and pledges to find the most sustainable sources of polyethylene, including bio-based alternatives.

Sizing options

Branding options

All specimen transport bags may be customised to suit your brand with printed elements such as logos and other information. In addition, safety information like biohazard symbols will be printed according to your specifications.

UN3373 Specimen Bags

For our specimen transport bags, we use a single-time adhesive sealing. Once closed, this seal cannot be opened and resealed, proving that there has been no tampering with the contents after its bagging. This seal is both incredibly secure, easy to use and does not require a tool to open it. We are able to integrate a tear-off aid in order to make opening the package straightforward and safe to reduce the risk of injury.

Specimen bags are designed as single-use pouches in order to prevent contamination, ensure reliability, and help guarantee accuracy in testing. Each specimen transport bag comes with an adhesive strip. Die Schutzschicht über diesem Klebestreifen muss abgezogen werden, um den Kleber freizulegen, der daraufhin nach unten gefaltet werden kann, um eine dichte Versiegelung zu bilden.

Remember to place the entirety of the biological sample inside carefully, inside a bag that is appropriately sized, along with any necessary absorbent pads.

Our specimen bags also have the option of coming with an absorbent pad. This is to prevent any liquid biological samples and other specimens from spilling or being lost.

RLK Group manufactures specimen bags in Vietnam and China. Our long-lasting partnerships with brands and manufacturing plants here have proven to consistently produce specimen bags to a high standard of quality.

It’s important to use the right type of specimen bag for the job. Certain bags may be rated for different purposes and may include leakproof or pressure-rated designs. Frequently Asked Questions

These specimen bags are designed to transport non-hazardous medical samples for diagnostic purposes. Any biohazardous specimens that fall under either biological substance – category A or category B (UN3373, UN2814, or UN2900) should not be stored in these bags. If you need bags for biohazardous specimens, please check out our UN3373 or 95kpa transport bags.

An exempt human or animal specimen is a term used to describe any specimen which is not infectious. In simple terms, if an individual is directly exposed to the contents, no long-term illness or disease can be transmitted.

For specimens that need to be transported overseas by air, a 95kpa pressure-rated bag is necessary. While these bags are leakproof, they are not rated for the pressures that may be sustained during flights.

If you are transporting liquid specimens, an absorbent pad is recommended to act as another line of defence to spillages and leakages.
